09/10/00 - Misguided pursuit of power: Chris writes to The Birmingham Post

Sir, - Tony Blair admitted to the Labour Party conference that the Millennium Dome had been a mistake and a huge waste of money. 'Hindsight is a wonderful thing and, if I had my time again, I would have listened to those who said governments shouldn't try to run big visitor attractions.'

The Prime Minister's statement reveals the true vacuousness of the New Labour project - led by politicians who believe only in the pursuit of power.

This apology was tantamount to admitting he should have listened to William Hague's assertion three years ago that the Government should abandon the idea of the Greenwich Dome.
