Dudley South Conservatives have announced that, once again, they will be fielding a full slate of candidates at the local elections on Thursday 6 May. The Conservatives will be defending Kingswinford South (where Cllr Patrick Harley is seeking re-election) and Wordsley (where John Jones is hoping to take over from retiring Councillor Harry Nottingham JP) and are hoping to pick up extra seats in Kingswinford North & Wall Heath (where Paul Woodall is standing), Brockmoor & Pensnett (where Sue Ridley is standing), Netherton, Woodside & St. Andrews (where Tracey Blunt is standing) and Brierley Hill (where Steve Ridley is standing).
Chris Kelly, Prospective Conservative MP for Dudley South, said: "Barring an Act of Parliament the one election that we can be certain about the date of is the local elections on Thursday 6 May. Conservative Councillors and candidates have been out and about with me talking to local residents and working hard for their wards and also addressing residents' concerns and casework. I hope that we will see strong recognition of that hard work through the ballot box on Thursday 6 May. That date could, of course, also be the date of the general election giving local residents the opportunity, after 13 years of Labour, to vote for change in our country.''
