Chris has long campaigned for transparency in the use of public money & was recently revealed by the Express & Star to be the lowest claiming MP in the whole region. Prior to his election Chris promised the people of Dudley South that he would treat taxpayers' money with respect like he has always treated funds in his family business. Chris is determined to stick to his promise to his constituents by being a low claiming MP.

To that end Chris claims for:

1. the cost of driving (mileage & the central London congestion charge) between the West Midlands & London
2. evening meals on a tray from the canteen in Parliament when the House of Commons sits beyond 19:30 & he is unable to cook an evening meal for himself, and
3. modest costs for accommodation in London.*

* From May 2010 to October 2010 no claims for accommodation costs whatsoever were made by Chris. From October 2010 to April 2012 Chris received the London Area Living Payment.

Chris's office in Netherton, Dudley only uses 2^nd class postage with most letters being hand delivered to constituents. No claim is made at taxpayers' expense for rent or telecoms, including phone calls and broadband, for his Netherton office (these charges are met by Dudley South Conservatives through fundraising).

The ConservativeHome website recently published data showing that Chris is one of the most efficient MPs in Parliament in the use of public money.
